Reading Reading Reading; Bout of Books 10 Goals and Updates

I’m going to try and read for two hours a day and achieve a minimum of 250 pages a day if all works out I’d like to get 1000 pages read and 3 books minimally. If I can put on my big girl pants over the week then I’d like to finish a book a day but with TAFE assignments coming to there due dates I’m not sure how well this will turn out. I also want to participate in some of the event during then week and most importantly have FUN!

Most importantly here I’m going to read, if you click on any of the covers
it will take you to the goodreads page for the book. All up I’ve given myself 9
books to pick from just in case I’m not feeling one or want a particular type of book.
This is something I irritated myself with me last Bout of Books

  1. Good luck with the challenge Katie, I love these things that keep us on track but never have any time to actually do them.

    1. Thanks Jeann, I don’t think I’ll have a lot of time to do the challenge but it was originally what kicked off my first blogging post so I’m going to try and make time to do this one! I hope you’ll have time to do one eventually.

  2. Holy crap, that's a helluva lot of reading. Love your choices though, The Fifth Wave is one of my favourites, absolutely loved it. Have you worked out the average number of pages per book? I find it takes me two to three days to read a 300 - 450 page book theses days, a lot less if I'm really enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing your progress, got my pom poms ready.

    1. Hahahah, I don’t plan on reading them all Kelly but I want to give myself plenty to pick from if I’m not feeling like one. I have a few up there that I’m going to try and finish no matter what but the others are just options. I can read a 400 page book on day I don’t have TAFE straight out and on a TAFE day I can read a 250 page book. I plan on using the big list above to pick a book I’m enjoying so I can get one done a day. Thanks for commenting Kelly!

  3. I loved If I Stay - if you get around to reading it I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Giving yourself a choice of what to read is a great idea - no need to get bogged down if something isn't working for you. I'm very much someone where mood is very important when it comes to what I'm going to read.

Best of luck with the bout of books! May you read many pages and find new books you adore :)

    1. I read If I Stay when it was first published and loved it but I just want a refresher for the movie! I understand so much for needing to be in the mood for a book, if I’m not I just procrastinate and muck around twitter!

Thanks so much for the well wishes Kate!

  4. I wasn't a huge fan of The 5th wave :( I thought it was very slow. And Tease was infuriating to me, but I've heard mixed things about it and I hope you do enjoy it! The rithmatist & The demon king are both high on my reading list. Good luck and happy reading :D

    1. Thanks for commenting Mel!
I read a lot of high fantasy so slow doesn’t bother me as long as character development or world building is happening. I’ve heard the same thing about tease but as I got a ARC I have to at least give it ago.

  5. Ahhh, KAAATIIIIIE! YOU DID SO WELL YESTERDAY! Here I was thinking I was doing well, but nope...in my defense, I am still in a semi-reading slump. I've heard a lot of great things about the Seven Reals series! How did you enjoy The Demon King? I haven't read fantasy in what seems like forever, but I really want to get back into it. Do you recommend the series? (Or at least the first book?)

    1. You still did awesome! I started reading at midnight on monday and finished The Demon King 20 minutes to midnight so it took a full day nearly! It was such a great easy read I totally recommend it! I felt it was complex enough to be interesting but easy enough to understand everything going on.

    2. I'll have to check it out. :) Did you enjoy The 5th Wave, Splintered and Unhinged?

  6. Good luck with this challenge! I am sure you will do well, you've already got through over 500 pages in one day which is impressive! I'll have to check back in and see how you do. I adored If I Stay, hope you love it.
